Tower Bank Arms

I have loved this building for a long time. It features in the Beatrix Potter book about Jemima Puddleduck - and also happens to be a favourite pub for my Mum, Dad and son to visit when we are in the Lake District.

It is in Near Sawrey, just by Beatrix Potter’s house.

The drawing was was for my Dad... then my son asked for it for his railway layout...

This is shows how my models are constructed. I hope it is interesting and even useful.

A basic box is built, then elements added like windows, doors etc. Textured walls were made by mixing flour paint and glue to give a really thick mess!

Interiors were added. Very, very small ones!

Even Mum, Dad and son got a look in. Although the resemblance isn’t great...

The interiors are not very visible once fitted, but really make a model come alive- especially a pub; you need customers!

Then the ground around the building - this one is on a slope - before the final detailing.

Finally, painting, vegetation and Jemima Puddleduck (actually a swan...)

Other Lakeland models.
