Paintings

Watch out, it could get messy in here!

Saltburn Pier. Acrylic on wood

OK, so the sky is rarely that blue, but I wanted a bright, impressionist version of a favourite place.

Woodhead Pass. Acrylic on canvas

Painted for my brother and his partner, who drive that way a couple of times a day. They have a great sense of humour, but also love the splendour of the surroundings.

Wilton at night. Acrylic on canvas

I have long felt that the beauty of the industrial heritage of Teesside is rather ignored. At night time, with its lights, flames and steams, it becomes mysterious; in the daytime it has a complex and fascinating grandeur. I love painting this sort of scene with children, as it opens their minds to the idea that beauty can take many forms.

Langdale Pikes. Watercolour

This was taken from a photo when the light and snow was just perfect. It is one of my favourite views- looking over the common to the Pikes and Pavey Ark.

Wedding car. Acrylics over pen and ink.

Painted for our wedding invitations, using images of the car we are having.

Aberfeldy book shop. Watercolour over pen and ink.

This lovely building was crying out to be drawn, and forms part of a series of pictures created during a week in the area.

Loch Tay from Kenmore. Watercolour

Part of the same series as the picture above. The painting is only around A5 in size, providing that I can paint small things!
